Dear School Counselor

“Character is like a tree and reputation is like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.”
-Abraham Lincoln

Dear School Counselor:

After serving thousands of schools all across North America over the past (nearly) 20 years, I understand how busy your schedule can be, so I appreciate you taking time out of your schedule to read this!

I wanted to quell some of the concerns that you may have about my services because (and I know I’m stating the obvious here) assembly presenters come in all kinds of varieties.

First, the reason I offer these programs is because I care – I care about future generations of children, and specifically their mental well-being. I was bullied a LOT as a kid and understand just how confusing and how challenging school can be to young people.

I’ve designed my programs to be so much more than just “fluff entertainment” – I’ve infused my assemblies to have real educational messages on their level. I understand children and know exactly how to communicate a concept on their developmental level. As a Communications major in college with a Psychology minor and the fact that I am a clinical hypnotherapist, I am fascinated by “how we tick.” Therefore, my assemblies are not just focused on fun stuff, but rather fun stuff with a purpose – to keep the entertainment level high, I know how to combine amazing magic with a great educational concept with a given age group.

In other words, I take into account the age of the children I’m in front of as well as what I’m trying to get across to them.

I believe this is a critical thing that separates my assemblies from the others out there – I have developed different versions of each program…one for the younger grades and one for older grades. For instance, at a K-5 school, I have a K-2 version of each program as well as a version for grades 3-5. This includes different ways of communicating my concepts, different magic, different humor and more. At a K-8 school, I even have versions appropriate for middle school students!

In fact, I’m kind of unique in that I welcome the opportunity to present to middle school students…many of my fellow presenters have told me they won’t do middle school assemblies because that age level is so difficult to present a program…but I disagree. I do it all the time!

I can reach the kids on their level and inspire them to not only be the best version of them that they can be but also treat their fellow students with kindness and respect.

I do my very best to instill students with that rare commodity called “hope.” Hope that they can achieve more than they think…hope that they can get out of an uncomfortable situation…hope that life can be just as grand as their imaginations will allow!

I also want to do what I can to ensure the messages I present have a long shelf life, so I also provide you with teacher/faculty support materials to enable the adults to reinforce my messages long after I’m gone. These curriculum-based programs line up perfectly with schools’ character education themes, too.

You’ll see the smiles on the faces of the students and hear the excitement in their voices leading up to the big day because I provide both a series of morning announcements which can be used to build excitement for the program as well as colorful fliers which can be printed and hung in hallways to get the conversation started.

In terms of assembly day logistics, I guarantee I’ll be the easiest presenter you ever bring into your school. My programs set up in about 30 minutes (Well, the Seuss-themed assembly that I offer takes a little longer, about 40 minutes due to the special aspects of that program) and break down in the same amount of time.

Also, I bring my own wireless microphone and state-of-the-art Bose PA system, meaning I don’t have to ask schools for ANY equipment!

Finally, and this is important, I want to remove any concerns that you may have about bringing my programs to your school so not only am I fully insured but I also offer a 100% “Better-Than-Money-Back” Guarantee: if you don’t feel my program delivered everything I promised and more, not only will I return your check but I will also donate $500 to your school’s PTA/PTO…and in 15 years, no one has ever taken me up on my guarantee!

I look forward to working with you and your school!

Best,

sig
